Blogger's Challenge 55

I have been very bad and have not participated in the Blogger's Challenge in the last few weeks. Life got hectic and I got so tired that all i really wanted to do is just veg out in front of the tv. LOL! But i missed being creative so i finally was able to make a card. For this week's blogger's challenge we had to create something using bugs and insects. Well at first i thought i did not have any stamps with bugs and insects and i remembered that i had the whimsical set but then i remembered that my Very Punny set had a ladybug and since i have not inked this set i would use it. It is a very simple card and sometimes i like cards that take about 15 minutes to put together. I thought of this layout at work so all i had to do was just come home and make the layout into a real card. I think i might need to do this more often. The next few weeks is going to be a little crazy since i have to pack and get ready to move into my two bedroom apartment which means ... I AM GOING TO HAVE A CRAFT ROOM ... and can you tell that i am so excited!!! I hope you all enjoy your weekend!

My first digital scrapbook page!

Hi everyone!!!! So today i did my very first digital scrapbook page. I have really slacked in the scrapbooking department and i wanted to get back into it. At first i was a little hesitant about digital scrapbooking and then i realized i spend the majority of the time on a computer so i might as well try out this digital scrapbooking. So i bought a program from Creative Memories a few months ago and I have FINALLY finished a page. I found some free fonts and a website that has a few free digital packs and viola! The great thing about digital is that you can use the paper and embelishments over and over again, if you make a mistake ... just start over and the only mess you'll make is leaving your laptop/computer out. The only downfall is ... the cost to print. It can cost anywhere from $4.99 to $7.99 per page. But if digital scrapbooking will get me to scrapbook more then the price is worth it :c) So now i am going to close and start on a new page!!! My goal is to do 1-2 pages a week ... gotta start slow! I hope you all have a week!!!

Dogs are just like children ...

So i am sitting on the couch one day and Snowflake is really quiet ... so i look over the couch and see that Snowflake is chewing on something. What is she chewing on you may ask ... EYELINER!!! So i grab it from her and this is what i see ...

So then yesterday after taking Snowflake out in the morning i let her go ahead and roam around and well she is awfully quiet AGAIN and i thought to myself i really should check on her. Of couse sleep won and when i woke back up and walked into the living room i saw the damage. On the floor was my blush with NOTHING left. She ATE my blush and so i have rose colored spots on my carpet and a dog with pink paws. I really can't wait until she gets out of the puppy stage and to think i want to get another puppy. I might have to consider that some more. LOL!

So now onto my card. I know today is Friday, which means blogger's challenge but i still have not made my manly card. Hopefully i wil will be able to work on that this weekend. But for today i am going to post my birthday invitations. The invitation is something simple and is a pocket card. I've always wanted to do a pocket. I didn't show the pull out since it has all my birthday information. I will have to come back to list the "ingredients" since I have to leave in a few. I hope you all have a great day!!!

For my daddy ....

Well tonight i was inspired to make a card and so i figured i would take advantage of this and make my father's day card especially since i thought i had TWO more weeks before Father's Day. I bought the father stamp a couple of months ago at Hobby Lobby. And don't you just love the pattern paper ... it reminds me so much of a pattern on a sweater a father would own. LOL! This was the first card that I got to make in my new armoire. My dad bought me one for my birthday so that I can have a nice area to stamp in and the most awesome thing about my armoire is all i have to do is just close the doors to hide the mess ... i don't have to pick up if i don't want to ... YES!!! LOL! I will post pics once i get everything organized. Now i just need to get inspired to finish my birthday invitations ... it's only three weeks away. YIKES!!! I hope you all have a great evening and a wonderful week!

Blogger's Challenge 50

Hey everyone! Yes i am still breathing. It's been about two weeks since I have done a blogger's challenge. It's been a busy two weeks but this week i was able to squeeze in about 15 minutes to make my card for this week. I finished the card on time but I am posting a little late .... again another busy week. LOL! For this blogger's challenge we had to use just black and white. I love black and white because there is something elegant and sophisticated about this color combination ... even in b&w photos. Love em! So I decided to ink up my SU! She's all that stamp set since i thought it would be perfect. For the background i used the doodle that stamp set. Just like a few others i wanted to add a splash of color ... especially behind the girl but i wanted to stick to the rules so I didn't. I have a friend who's birthday is tomorrow so this is the card i am going to send. Gotta go now ... have to start cleaning the house and I have to meet up with a friend for lunch. I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing weekend :c)

Bloggers Challenge #47

Dude! That is so cool!!! So for our bloggers challenge we had to use the For Father dog layout on page 21 in SU! Mini Catalog. I actually love this layout and love my card. I used SU! So Cool stamp set ... it is so early in the morning that i can't even remember the colors that I used on my card. LOL! Guess my brain is fried from all the reading i did yesterday. The arrow is a chipboard that I just modge podge some paper on and I also put some crystal effects on the word dude. But I really do have to cut this post short since I have to leave to go pick up a friend to bring to work and then head out to take my test. I hope you all have a fantastic friday and I can't wait to get back and see what everyone has done! TTFN!

This is where the magic happens ...

So for as long as i can remember i've always wanted to craft space where i can just leave my stuff out and not worry about having to put everything away. Well ... now i have my craft space and once we get something we always want more ... i want a craft room. But my craft space will have to do for now. I finally got around to organizing my stuff. It is not much but i think i am more exicted of having everything organized. The past few times i have sat down to work on something i would get so overwhelmed because I could not find ANYTHING and i spent more time looking for stuff than working on stuff. So on my table i have everything that i would use on just about every project ... scissors, glue, stamp scrubber, cutters, scrap paper, etc and of course the book case holds all the fun stuff. I was just inspired by so many people and how everything is so organized. Now i can't wait to make a mess :c)

So now i have to go back to reading a very boring insurance book ... how about i am reading it for the third time ... failed it twice so maybe third times the charm. I am one test away from reaching my insurance designation and if i pass the test my employer will pay me money. If i do pass the test i already know what I will be purchasing ... my cuttlebug machine. I've been dying to have one but just can't afford one ... it will definitely be a great gift to myself. So off i go ... wish me luck tomorrow. Nite Nite!

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

Happy 5th of May everyone! I hope everyone's week is starting off great. This week is our Employee Appreciation Week and it is always an exciting time at work!

This past weekend i had to go to Atlanta to a Braves game and Claudia offered to watch Snowflake. That made my trip so much better because Snowflake is not 100% housebroken and I would have worried about her constantly because she would have had to stay in the laundry room. So off we went to Claudia's and Sam instantly fell in love with Snowflake ... i think we can skip the bath this week since Sam just could not get enough of licking Snowflake. Maggie on the other hand could care less about Snowflake and let it be known with a growl here and there but Snowflake still tested her. She had so much fun that Snowflake pretty much slept all day yesterday. So as a thank you, I made Claudia a card and Maggie and Sam a treat jar filled with yummy Chocolate Chip Cookies (dog safe).

I got the jar from Target and the paper from Hobby Lobby and then I used my newly bought dogwalkabella! I love the bellas! Claudia loved the gift and I am pretty sure Maggie and Sam will enjoy their treats ... the cookies are Snowflake's favorites :c)

A New Generation

Jonathan Roch Elliott was finally born on May 1, 2008 at 6:44 pm CST at 8 lbs 2 ounces and 19.5 inches long. Little Jonathan is the first 2nd cousin to be born on the Longtin side of the family and he is absolutely adorable. I can't wait to meet him. So at my stamp camp a few weeks ago Claudia showed us how to make onsie cards and i just thought how perfect would this be for Amy and Joe (the proud parents). Today was the first day since Thursday that I have been able to sit down and relax and I wanted to make sure I made this card before life got busy again. The paper is from a paper pack that I bought a few weeks ago and you can't really tell but it has glitter on the page and I just thought this pattern paper was very boyish :c) For the E in the monogram I used Stampin Up Newsprint alphabets in certainly celery and the smaller letters were from a stamp set i bought at Michaels and the trim is So Saffron. Isn't this such a cute card?!?!?!
I have been quite busy the past few days making stuff. I have two projects right now ... one is pretty much complete but I have to put a food item in a jar and when i went to go get it today the store was out *tear* so it probably won't get delivered until Tuesday. For my other project i have to get some more pattern paper and then print out some pictures. So hopefully that will be done this week too and i can post some pics. The next big projects will be birthday invitations and party gifts and that is going to be lots of fun :c) Well, i hope you all enjoy your Sunday and have a great week!!!

Blogger Challenge #45

So it seems that I am only posting once a week ... but i am currently making a few things for people so once i have given the gifts i will be sure to post them. So on to the blogger's challenge. This week we had to make a graduation card ... well it seems like i am not the only one who doesn't know anyone who is graduating so I to did a different take. It's so funny that i was looking on Nikki's blog and she was thinking the same exact thing ... use stars and the word congrats!!! LOL! Great minds things alike. This is a very simple card ... it took me about 15 minutes to make. There is no stamping since i really do not have a graduation stamp. I just picked up the congrats paper at Hobby Lobby and used gold embossing powder on the star. Again, really, really, really simple. Well, i am on lunch break and i think i am over my lunch hour so I will have to close and get my hiney back to work. Can't wait to see everyone else's creations. I've already liked the ones i have seen! TTFN and have a fun friday!!!

Blogger's Challenge #44

Evening y'all! Well again tomorrow is going to be a slammed pack day so i am posting a little early. This week was a color combo challenge. We had to use Brocade Blue, Oh Saffron, Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip. I am not sure what was happening this week but this challenge was so hard for me to do. I wanted to use my Seriously Sassy stamp set that I just got and so i forced myself to come up with something ... so it was like a challenge within a challenge ... but i finally figured it out and i am quite pleased with it. TADA!!! I used the polka dot and petal stamp for the background on the oh saffron paper. Can you see the "bling" on the word sweet. I thought glitter would add a little umph .. i am glad the camera picked it up. And the brocade blue was killing me because it did not look complete ... at least to me and so i think inking the edges completed the whole card. Looking back i think i could have added eyelets on the ribbon but it's okay. It's late so I am off to bed. I'll venture off and see what others have done whenever i can sneak a minute or two! Happy Friday (or thursday depending on when you are reading this) Nite Nite!!!

Bloggers Challenge Week 43

I know today is not friday, which means i am posting my challenge just a few hours early. I have company coming tomorrow and i didn't want to be late posting my challenge. This week we had to create something using chipboards. Well ... that is one supply that i am short on. I have letter chipboards and i really didn't know what to do with them ... i basically could not come up with anything creative. So off to AC Moore i go ... long story short ... i totally missed the chipboard the FIRST time and found them on the second trip. So here is my card. I really wanted to do something different so i decided to make a flap card. I couldn't get a good picture to show the flap but basically the part that the chipboard is on opens up and the part with the butterflies open down. My chipboard is the flower and i embossed it with some embossing glitter from the local craft store and i used the Garden Whimsy stamp set in Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip. Since the card is not the standard card size i also made an envelope to match. To keep the card closed i used velcro. i really like this card ... it's probably my new favorite card! Can't wait to see everyone else's creations, especially Claudia's ... she is probably going to use her new chunky glitter that she got in today ... i'm so jealous :c)

Today was just one of those days!

First ... i called out from work because i have company coming over and well my house is not ready for company so I knew that i would not have enough time in between dinner with mom, a class with Claudia, a vet visit and a blogger's challenge to clean. I didn't get everything done but i got most. Then Snowflake is driving me CRAAAAAZY!!! There were moments where i wanted to put her in her room and listen to her scream than just dealing with her ... even at this moment she is trying my patience. Then the cherry on top ... i went to the laundry mat to wash my blanket and well half way through the drying cycle i realized that my bedspread was DRY CLEAN ONLY!!!! So something that once was an oversized queen blanket will now comfortable fit a twin size bed. This meant i had to spend almost 2 hours looking for a new bedspread that was a reasonable price and was WASHABLE since I still have a dog that is not fully housebroken. Good thing the bedspread i was eyeballing at Target was still there and i didn't notice it until the 3rd trip down the bedding aisles. So needless to say i am definitely ready for bed and i cannot wait until the weekend ... and Claudia's class ... nothing better than crafts to make everything better!

Yesterday's lesson of the day

So as i am organizing stuff on bookcase i hear Snowflake tearing something up ... she has a fasicnation with paper and loves to get her teeth on them and rip it apart so thinking she just grabbed a sheet a paper i continued to work on my bookcase. I turn around and then gasp ... so what was the lesson of the day ... don't leave stuff that you have made within reach of a dog who loves to tear stuff up ... here is what's left of my triangle box ...

So now when i look at this box all i can do is laugh. I guess my dog likes crafts as much as i do! LOL! I hope you all have a great day!

It's a beautiful day ...

And Snowflake and I really should be outside enjoying it. Instead i am inside making cards to give to those who came to my stamp camp last weekend. I am not overly happy with it since i had to make something quick ... i have to go back to studying Calculus since i haven't cracked the book in two days and the final is on Wednesday (yikes!!!). I used the Perfect Princess set with Mellow Moss for the background and the greeting was stamped with Lexicon of Love and then embossed with some embossing powder i bought from a local craft store. I feel like i should have matted the greeting but i did not have any cardstock that would have matched :c( I can't wait for my order to come in since i have some paper in there and other wonderful goodies. Well i am off to take a nap ... hopefully Snowflake will cooperate and take one with me.

Bloggers Challenge

Evening everyone ... for our bloggers challenge this week we had to create a triangle box. Well this was something totally different and definitely something i have never done so i was amazed to see how many triangle boxes there were out there. I got a little overwhelmed with choices :c) So here it is ... my triangle box! YAY! I had something different in mind but it was too simple. So while digging for something i came across my bag of flowers and was like ... hey i think i can do something with these and well i did. I was going to use a greeting but i think that would have been too much so i left it like this. The stamps that i used are polka dots & petals from stampin up. i had an angled picture of my triangle box but for some reason it is not acting right when i try to upload ... I think this picture is a little blurry but i just wanted to make sure i was able to post this before Friday ended. This was definitely fun and all the boxes i have seen so far are absolutely AMAZING! I had fun doing this and can't until next friday!!!

National Scrapbook Day

Well I went to a Creative Memories National Scrapbooking Day event and after 6 hours I got one page done. LOL! So here it is ... I have just been having a hard time lately coming up with layouts for scrapbooking ... i guess i am still in the card making state of mind. The background paper is from Stampin' Up and i the title is also Stampin' Up. The journaling stamps were done with a set i bought from Hobby Lobby ... can't remember the name. The picture was of Snowflake in the bathroom ... i just thought it would be so cute since the bathroom is pink ... i was right :c)

What is your color?

I love personality tests and so when Claudia posted this i HAD to take it. I think this described me perfectly!

Take this test!
You're green, the color of growth and vigor. Good-hearted and giving, you have a knack for finding and bringing out the best in people. Green is the most down-to-earth color in the spectrum — reliable and trustworthy. People know they can count on you to be around in times of need, since your concern for people is genuine and sincere. You take pride in being a good friend. For you, success is measured in terms of personal achievement and growth, not by status or position. Rare as emeralds, greens are wonderful, natural people. It truly is your color!

Happy Easter!!!

Well, I just came back from Augusta visiting some very close friends and i had a blast. Me and my friend Lee Anna tried to scrapbook and well, when you are 200 miles away from home there will be the one thing that you forget to bring that will help you complete your pages ... mine was white paper ... yes, white paper. And what makes it worse is that Lee Anna did not have any and since i had to keep my scrapbooking stuff "light" the only paper i brought were the ones that i were planning on using. But the weekend was not wasted in me being creative. Lee Anna wanted me to take pictures of the kids at the Easter egg hunt and I will have to say that Elizabeth was cooperating and we had a few beautiful images ... here are my two favorite (both were taken with my Digital Canon SLR rebel)

I will try to work on some of my scrapbooking pages now that I am home and will post the ones that I have completed. I am attending National Scrapbooking Day on Saturday so I will definitely have some pages done there to share. I hope everyone will enjoy their Easter and now I have to get Snowflake's Easter basket together. TTFN!!!

Still alive

Hey y'all! I just wanted to let you all know that I am still alive :c) Easter is right around the corner and well ... I have NOT started on making my Easter stuff. Good thing I only have 5 people on my team to make stuff for. Then I have to get Snowflake's Easter basket together and Snowflake still needs to get Twinkie's Easter basket together. Aghhhhhh! It will get done! I am going to try to make a home made Easter basket out of paper. Here is what it is supposed to look like

But since I am pressed for time, I might just make a trip to Wal-Mart to get the Easter baskets and I'll just make hand-made Easter cards.

This weekend i am going to be going out of town to visit friends of mine and will be scrapbooking so I will definitely take pics of the pages that I create and post them on here! My SU order came in and I am so excited to start using them on my pages ... especially my scallop punch! So come back soon to see what i have done!!! TTFN!

Hey Y'all and Happy Birthday, Jon!!!

Sooo ... it looks like i jumped on the bandwagon and got my own blog. YAY! I finally decided to create one after seeing all the future Martha Stewarts posting their awesome cards and i wanted to share mine. Hopefully i will have my internet hooked up within the next week or so but until then I will either have to sneak a few minutes at work to create new posts or Claudia will be my "co-author" :)

Some of the things I will try to post will be cards that I have made, scrapbooking pages, pictures and other little things that I find interesting. Speaking of pictures, i wanted to post a picture that I took of my baby, Snowflake. She is a West Highland White Terrier, aka Westies, and is very photogenic :) This was taken in Destin Florida after my brother's rugby game and whenever she is paying attention to you she loves to tilt her head so i caught her at a perfect moment. This was taken with a Sony 8.1 Cybershot (your regular old point and shoot camera)

Well I hope you all come back soon to check out what I have been up to! TTFN!!!

Do we love PINK?!

Hi and welcome to Heidi's Blog!

Until Heidi's internet connection is up and running, you might see the occasional post from me for HER!

I thought I'd give the blog a kick start with Heidi's darling creations that she created after reading the blog entries for all the different challenges I participate in. She was so inspired that she came up with 2 cute cards! She hasn't been stamping for all that long. So what she came up with on her own was pretty impressive!

Her first card (which is my personal favorite):

And this is her second card:

Thanks for looking!
